| Updated: October 2, 2021 21:05

The Rashtriya Raksha University(RRU) – a national-level internal security educational university, celebrated its first Foundation Day on October 1, 2021.

The ceremony took place at the University campus with the presence of some eminent members like pro-vice-chancellor Dr Anand Kumar Tripathi, Registrar Pavan Kumar Soni and Vikas Sahay as their Guest of Honour.

The University got national recognition after the Rajya Sabha passed the “Rashtriya Raksha University Bill” in September 2020. Located in Lavad, Gandhinagar – this University was rechristened in 2020 after the Bill was passed and offers various certificate programs on internal security and defence.

Talking with Vibes of India about the university that has been home to nearly 26 ranks of various forces, Bimal Patel, Vice-Chancellor of RRU said, ” As an institution, our only aim is to give as much possible as we can to our country and success to us, would be the day we become global leaders of internal security education,”.

While the University dean and a core member of RRU’s foundation, Dr Akshat Mehta, stressed the ethical aspect of the University. ” Ethics are of prime importance to us and we do not encourage or entertain any influenced or privileged behaviour,”, he said.

Along with Sahay, Dr Mehta has been an integral part of the foundation team. Sharing his best memory of working with Sahay, he said,” The time when we had to recruit people was so far the best as Sahay always focused on hiring employees later and a good human first. That helped us get good people on board “.

Sahay, who has been associated with the University for 12 years extended gratitude to the University as the ceremony also doubled as a farewell to him. He further said that he feels proud to be affiliated with a university that has kept its ethics, more than anything else – intact over these years.
