When the Gram Panchayat elections in Gujarat are in full swing, the sarpanch election in a small village in Chhotaudepur district has suddenly turned glamorous as the daughter of Kavitha village and a successful Mumbai Model Aeshra Patel has decided to jump into the fray.
Hailing from Kavitha village in Sankheda taluka of Chhotaudepur, Aeshra Patel has decided to contest for the post of Sarpanch of Kavitha village. The seat is reserved for women. So far four women candidates have filled the form for this seat.
Aeshra Patel has a successful modeling career in Mumbai is indeed following the footsteps of her father. Her father Narhari Patel has also been the Sarpanch of the village, member of taluka panchayat and also the chairman of APMC, Bodeli.
Eshra Patel has been modeling in Mumbai for years. Model for top brands, she has worked for over 100 brands such as Ponds, Provogue, Asian Paints and Raymond.
Aeshra Patel has also worked with likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in the ad. “After returning to the native place, it occurred to me that I should do something for my village too and that is why I have entered politics by filling up the form for this election,” says Aeshra Patel, a politician with a touch of glamour.
