IPS Raju Bhargava has taken over as Rajkot’s new Police Commissioner. He received a grand welcome from his guard of honors at the city’s circuit house. Senior officials, including DCPs, attended the function. He spoke to the media about the tarnished image of Rajkot. He said, “We would take all necessary steps to improve Rajkot’s image.”
The new Police Commissioner, Bhargava, also said, “We will tackle the challenges with the public’s help. It is my priority to maintain law and order. I specifically appeal to the citizens of Rajkot to cooperate with the police as much as they can. I am also aware of the traffic problem in Rajkot. We will try to overcome it to a large extent. The department has placed me here with a lot of hope. I also have to make the approach of transparent policy meaningful.”
Previously, Raju Bhargava worked as Law and Order DIG. In addition to his current operations, the department posted Raju Bhargava in Rajkot. Currently, IPS Prafulla Kumar has taken charge in the absence of IPS Bhargava in Gandhinagar. Raju Bharadwaj, the New Police Commissioner of Rajkot, hails from Gujarat. Born in 1966, Bhargava belongs to the 1995 IPS batch. Moreover, his educational qualifications are B.Sc. (Hons), MA (Economics), and Masters in Business Administration. Currently, IPS Prafulla Kumar Roshan (1996 Batch) is filling his shoes in Gandhinagar.
