The 103-year-old Rajpipla Civil Hospital located in the Narmada district used dummy patients during the inspection conducted by higher officials from the medical department in Gandhinagar for approval to get a medical college. 29 nursing students of Government School of Nursing Jitnagar near Rajpipla were duped as patients and admitted to 4 different wards of the hospital.
Also, this hospital is Medical College Affiliated GMERS (Gujarat Medical and Research Center). Hence during the inspection, the civil hospital authorities had to ensure enough patients were getting the medical services. Further, the old civil hospital was shifted to the building of the Ayurvedic College.
About 11 girls of the same age were lying on the hospital bed in the 2F female surgical ward on the third floor of GMERS Hospital. On the other hand, in the male surgical ward and orthopaedic ward, 8 dummy patients were receiving the wrong treatment.
Civil surgeon of Rajpipla Hospital, Jyoti Gupta said that the 100-year-old hospital building is in a dilapidated condition. So we have started the treatment on the Ayurvedic hospital campus. If we talk about nursing students, we also called them for shifts and secondly, they are also practical in studying.
