Bhalodia Vikshita, a Gujarat board student from Rajkot district has topped the merit list of degree engineering with 99.976 marks.
The Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) on Sunday declared the provisional merit list consisting of 34,585 of the total 36,216 students who participated in the online registration to get admission in degree engineering courses.
Surprisingly, 15 engineering branches have been opened for students with Biology as their major 1,305 candidates have been included in the merit list and these students will be able to get admission to 933 seats in three government and 13 self-financed institutes in the state. The merit list gives 50 percent weightage to class 12 Science marks and 50 percent weightage to GUJCET score this year.
There are 10,492 seats in government colleges and 19 39,368 in 114 other colleges, taking the total tally to 49,860 seats in 133 colleges in the state on which ACPC will conduct admission. Private colleges will be able to give admission on 50% seats from the 17,365 seats allotted in management quota, Choice filling to select branches and colleges started from Sunday. Students will be able to fill in choices till September 12 and the final merit and mock round result will be declared on September 15.
