Gujarat’s Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi on Friday reached the town of Dhandhuka in Ahmedabad district to condole the demise of a person from the Bharwad (Shepherd community). Two persons from the minority community killed him after reading his post on social media even though he had posted an apology on the same media later.
In yet another incident in the state, 25 persons from the minority community attacked five persons over a post on the social media platform – Instagram. Bhaktinagar Police of Rajkot is investigating the incident.
According to some reports, a tussle between two groups began after a religious post by Vinay Dodia of Rajkot city on Instagram. Vinay began receiving abusive messages on his Instagram account by Irshad Sanghi, who asked him to delete his post. Irshad reportedly asked Dodia to come near the Jilla Garden area of Rajkot city to bury the hatchet but when he went there with his friends, 25 persons from the minority community attacked him.
On Saturday, Vinay Dodia along with his supporters reached Rajkot Police Commissioner’s office to complain about Sanghi.
