Academic pressure affects every child. In a tragic incident, a 17-year-old girl took her own life, fearing she would not achieve the marks needed for her desired medical college.
The Class 12 student was found hanging at her residence in Oscar Residency near Ayodhya Chowk in Rajkot on Sunday night.
Local police informed that she left a note expressing her fear of not scoring enough marks in the nearing tests to pursue further medical education. She reportedly ended her life when her parents were away.
The note stated, “Mom, please forgive me. I cannot fulfil your dream of becoming a doctor.”
She was found unconscious and was declared dead when rushed to the civil hospital. The University police registered the case as an accidental death.
According to reports, she was depressed due to the constant fear of not being able to score enough marks to become a doctor, which gradually led her to commit suicide.
