Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation(RIICO)Chairman Ashutosh Pednekar wrote to RIICO Managing Director recommending the establishment of two distinct industrial zones to encourage solar component manufacturing in the state.
Now, RIICO wants to find two places that make solar components: one in western Rajasthan and another in the NCR. According to RIICO MD Shivprasad Nakate, the RRECL chairman has sent them a letter. Nakate stated, “We are working on the letter.”
Rajasthan is a national hub for solar energy production, but the component manufacturing industry has yet to take off. The state government and Renew Power recently agreed to establish a solar panel manufacturing facility in Mahindra World City. Insolation Energy is another company that has been manufacturing modules in the state.
Indeed, at the “Invest Rajasthan” summit, the state government signed memorandums of understanding and letters of intent in the renewable sector worth Rs 8.85 trillion. In the letter, Pednekar proposes two component manufacturing zones: one in western Rajasthan, the state’s solar capital, and one in Bhiwadi, the NCR region’s automotive and glass manufacturing hub.
