According to the latest release by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Gujarat, Konkan and North Central Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh among others are expected to receive an intense spell of rain till July 17. Apart from this, the South Indian states of Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh will also be experiencing the same weather conditions for the next four to five day.
“Fairly widespread, light, moderate rainfall & thunderstorm/lightning with isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Gujarat State, Kerala & Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana and Karnataka during next 4-5 days,” stated the weather forecasting department in its release.
The IMD further predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in several isolated places of Madhya Pradesh till July 16. Coastal regions of Karnataka along with isolated places of Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh are likely to receive heavy and very rainfall respectively today on Wednesday. Apart from these regions, Gujarat, Goa, Konkan and Central Maharashtra are expected to witness very heavy rainfall for two days and Odisha for the coming three days.
Extremely heavy rainfall has been predicted for today on Wednesday by the IMD over Gujarat and moreover the Saurashtra and Kutch regions are expected to experience the same weather conditions tomorrow also.
