Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha is all set to embark on a one-day visit to Gujarat on July 6, 2024. This marks his first appearance as the Leader of the Opposition in the state of Gujarat.
The President of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee, MP Shaktisinh Gohil will accompany Rahul Gandhi during this visit. Gohil highlighted that Rahul invoked Lord Shiva in Parliament which emphasised the noble aspects of Hinduism. Furthermore, Rahul Gandhi boldly declared that the Congress party is poised to secure victory in Gujarat as well.
On July 3, BJP supporters attacked the Congress party office, resulting in the arrest of several Congress workers. During the attack, Congress workers defended their party office with unwavering courage, calling themselves ‘Babbar Sher’ (Courageous Lion) and protecting their headquarters.
On July 6, Gandhi will address the Congress workers at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan at 12:30 PM. Additionally, he will meet with families of Congress workers currently in jail and those affected by various tragic events in Gujarat.
In a stern warning to the BJP, Rahul Gandhi asserted that if the ruling party misuses police officers, the Congress has the capacity to challenge such actions in the Supreme Court. He urged police officers not to come under the influence of BJP.
Senior leaders, including Gujarat Pradesh organisation in-charge Mukul Wasnik, are actively involved in coordinating the event. Other congress leaders and party workers like Jagdish Thakor, Siddharth Patel Amit Chavda, Shaileshbhai Parmar, Jignesh Mevani, Dr Indravijaysinh Gohil, Lalji Desai, Ami Yagnik, Himmatsinh Patel and party workers will be present in the meeting.
