With Gujarat assembly elections due next year, Congress’ former national president Rahul Gandhi will be visiting the state from November 10 to November 13. He will visit Ahmedabad to participate in the three-day Chintan Shibir which is aimed to draw plans for state assembly elections.
Last week the top leaders of Gujarat Congress had a meeting with Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi, wherein the discussions were done on the strategies to be formed for the upcoming state assembly elections – which is likely to be held in December next year.
The newly appointed Gujarat in charge of Congress, Raghu Sharma was also present and he was also briefed about the party position in Gujarat. Also, the discussions for the positions of President of Gujarat Congress as well as the Leader of Opposition (LOP) were made. At present, both the positions are vacant.
Notably, it has been six months since the Gujarat Congress President position and CLP leader position are vacant after the resignation of Amit Chavda and Paresh Dhanani from their respective positions but the state Congress party is yet to find their replacements.
