Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra resumed on Saturday from Bodeli in Gujarat’s Chhota Udepur. The rally began with a strategic meeting involving 13 MLAs, including state leaders such as Shaktisinh Gohil, Amit Chavda, Shailesh Parmar and Sukhram Rathwa.
As the crowd swelled in Bodeli, several cases of pickpocketing were also reported. Among the victims was Chandrakant Shrivastava, a corporator from Vadodara, who reported a loss of Rs 45,000. The local police station has since received complaints from over ten individuals alleging their money had been stolen in the rally. A person suspected of pickpocketing was caught by the public and handed over to the police.
From Bodeli, the Yatra proceeded towards Nasvadi, stopping at Khandivav and Kakroliya in Chhota Udepur district, where Gandhi was warmly welcomed by hundreds of people. Further stops included Alipura in Bodeli, where a public meeting was held, and Dhokalia College, where Congress workers greeted Gandhi. The rally then moved on to Modasar Chowkdi.
Gandhi is scheduled to meet representatives from 70 social organisations in Kunwarpara area of Narmada district in the state. The meeting will focus on issues concerning farmers, tribals, and Dalits. Following this, Chaitar Vasava is expected to join Gandhi at a public meeting in Bharuch, where the Congress has formed an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the Bharuch Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming general elections.
