Professor Nilofar Khan was appointed Vice-Chancellor of the university on Thursday, succeeding Professor Talat Ahmad, whose tenure ended on May 19.
Professor Khan has over 30 years of teaching experience and has held several academic and administrative positions at the university, including Dean, College Development Council, Registrar, Dean Faculty of Applied Science and Technology, and Director Institute of Home Sciences. She was also the University’s first female Dean of Students Welfare and the founding Director of the Centre for Women’s Studies and Research.
Prof Khan stated that one of her top priorities as she took office on Friday would be the implementation of the National Education Policy-2020. “In addition, in accordance with the new UGC guidelines, we will investigate collaborations with reputable international institutions,” she said.
