Probe Launched After Occultist Conducts Ritual in ICU Ward of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital

| Updated: December 19, 2024 18:48

The Ahmedabad Civil Hospital has initiated an investigation following the circulation of a video allegedly showing an occultist conducting a ritual on an ICU patient at a government hospital and claiming responsibility for their treatment.

A video of the ritual was posted on Instagram by the occultist, who went by the name Mukesh Bhuva.

Following the viral video, Dr Rakesh Joshi, the hospital’s medical superintendent, released a video statement warning people not to trust the occultist’s claims that the patient had been cured by his magic.

“We have not encountered any such instance in the past 15-odd days, but we have launched an investigation and footage of CCTV cameras are being scanned. We will soon find out how and why the person entered the ICU,” he said.

Dr Joshi mentioned that an investigation into the occurrence has been ordered.

According to the alleged video, a man in a t-shirt and jeans enters the intensive care unit (ICU) ward and approaches a patient who is intubated. He then touches the patient’s head as part of a ritual. The patient was given a new life by his miracle, according to the video’s description.

Additional footage of Bhuva performing rituals on patients may be found on his Instagram feed. In one video, a patient who reportedly recovered from serious head injuries is shown giving him gratitude.

“Immediate action should be taken against all those held responsible,” stated rationalist Jayant Pandya, the founder of the “Bharat Jan Vigyan Jatha,” which encourages a scientific attitude among the public.
