The fee regulatory committee (FRC) on Friday announced the fees for more than 1,200 private medical, dental, and paramedical colleges in the state.
The committee has announced the fees for 39 medical colleges for 2024-25. New fees for paramedical and dental colleges have been announced for the upcoming three years. The committee clarified that for medical courses, the remaining two years’ fees will be announced in the next few days. However, fees for nursing colleges have not been announced yet.
The fee committee has allowed the colleges to increase their fees by 2% to 25%, with an average increase of 12%. The new fee structures don’t apply to 13 medical colleges run by Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society (GMERS).
The last time the fees for private medical and paramedical colleges in the state were set was in 2020-21, and since then, they had not been revised due to the Covid-related financial disruptions.
