Most of these gaming and amusement zones operate without any required permissions and will have no fire safety equipment. The horrific Rajkot fire tragedy which claimed 27 lives is being forgotten slowly and instead the system is at work to reopen the institutions that were closed due to non-compliance of safety norms.
The vested interests are mounting pressure on the government to open the gaming zones, amusement parks, and other such places that were closed after a huge public outcry due to the Rajkot incident that exposed politicians and officers’ nexus. As the festival days are nearing, those having commercial interests in such establishments are working overtime to get the ban lifted.
The new set of rules and regulations meant for gaming zones and amusement parks are ready for announcement. Those in the know revealed that there will be several new permissions are made mandatory under new regulations.
August month with several popular festivals, especially Janmashtami, approaching, the organizers of the gaming zones and amusement parks would want the restrictions lifted sooner rather than later. The Janmashtami festival is a very important event in Saurashtra region. Announcement of new guidelines and reopening of their establishments serve their commercial interests best.
