After Covid-19, there has been a huge surge in the demand for passports. It created huge pressure on the police department for issuing the Police Clearance Certificate (PCC). Citizens are also facing huge difficulty in obtaining the clearance from police.
Considering the huge spike in demand, the government has decided to start online applications for Police Clearance Certificate from September 28 at Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSKS) all over India.
This is an important step toward the ease provided to the citizens for obtaining a Police Clearance Certificate. The citizens can choose the appointment slot and date online.
By deciding to extend the service to POPSKS, the government will be not only helping Indians who want to go abroad for employment but also cater to other uses also such as education, long-term visa, and immigration.
