After Komal Rawal, an employee of TCS and resident of Gandhinagar, allegedly died by suicide on November 5, the police have charged a man for abetment to suicide on Thursday.
Ritwik Thakkar, a colleague of Komal at TCS, was booked after Komal’s father – Ashwini Rawal in his complaint said that “Thakkar called my wife and asked to make him talk to Komal but till then she had locked herself in the room. In a while, Thakkar arrived at our home and told us about the possibility of any mishappening. We then rush to her room and broke the door, where she was found hanging. Thakkar took with him Komal’s phone when we left for the hospital. In no time, the doctors informed us that she was brought dead to the hospital and then Thakkar left for his home. Later on, when we asked for our daughter’s phone, he refused its possession.”
However, the police have confirmed that Komal’s phone was traced via live location and the phone was found to be in the possession of Thakkar. Followed by this, the police have booked Ritwick Thakkar under IPC section 306 for abetment to suicide and 404 for dishonest misappropriation of property possessed by the deceased person.
