Special judge at POCSO court, TA Rana, sentenced the principal of a municipal school in Ahmedabad to life imprisonment. Sunil Virjibhai Damor, principal at the municipal school in the Shahpur area of Ahmedabad, was convicted of molesting a girl student aged eight on September 15 and 16, 2017.
The mother of the victim registered a complaint with the local police station. The girl also identified the perpetrator of the crime. She narrated that Damor pulled her inside a room by her plaits. He also injured her with his nails and threatened her against complaining to anyone.
Additional Public Prosecutor Devendra Padhiyar argued for the sternest possible sentence for the convict. He underlined that the incident is a blemish on the purity of the relationship between a student and a teacher. He requested the court that an example be set so as to deter such incidents from taking place in future.
