Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is visiting Gujarat on March 12, will be performing ‘Ashram Bhoomi Vandana’ to launch the Rs 1200-crore Sabarmati Ashram Reconstruction Project. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will be present at the function.
The Prime Minister is expected to visit Sabarmati Ashram in the morning. He will be inaugurating the renovated Kochrab Ashram. The launch of the Sabarmati Ashram project coincides with the anniversary of the Dandi March on March 12.
The project envisages expanding the existing five-acre area of the ashram to 55 acres. A total of 36 buildings will be restored. ‘Hriday Kunj’, Mahatma Gandhi’s residence, will be conserved.
The PM will also be laying the foundation stone of Railway projects worth over Rs. 85,000 crore in Ahmedabad. He will be dedicating to the nation two new sections of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC). The operation control centre of one of these is Ahmedabad.
He will flag off ten Vande Bharat trains including one between Ahmedabad and Mumbai Central. In addition, Prime Minister Modi will flag off the extension of four Vande Bharat trains, including the extension of the Ahmedabad-Jamnagar Vande Bharat till Dwarka.
Moreover, the PM will dedicate 50 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras at railway stations to the nation. These kendras will stock affordable and quality generic medicines.
Fifty-one Gati Shakti multimodal cargo terminals will also be dedicated to the nation. The terminals are expected to ensure the seamless transportation of goods. Solar-powered stations/buildings at 975 locations will be launched to reduce the Railways’ carbon footprint.
Also, on the cards are 1500 ‘One Station One Product Stalls’ across the country that will promote local products and generate income for local artisans and businesses.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will witness ‘Bharat Shakti’ – a demonstration of indigenous defence capabilities at Pokhran in Rajasthan. The show will simulate multi-domain operations of the Indian Armed Forces to counter threats across land, air, sea, cyber, and space domains.
