Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Gujarat for a 3-day visit, will inaugurate Banas Dairy’s second production unit at Sanadar near Deodar in Banaskantha District.The company is the top milk producer in entire Asian continent and the new plant will reassert its position.
Plant to churn 100 tons of butter a day
The plant has a milk processing capacity of 30 lakh liters per day, which can be increased to 50 lakh liters per day. The plant will be able to churn out 100 tons of butter, 1 lakh liters of ice cream and also 6 tons of chocolate per day. It is the first time in India that another large state-of-the-art dairy plant has been set up in the same district. The dairy plant will boast advanced technologies and machinery that has been brought in from 7 different countries of the world.
Potato processing plant
Furthermore, PM will unveil Banas Dairy Complex’s potato processing and product unit, situated next to the dairy plant. This unit has the capacity to process 48 tons of potatoes per day.
Dudhwani Community Radio Station (FM 90.4)
The company will also commence its Dudhwani Community Radio Station (FM 90.4) that is constructed at 151 Bigha at Sanadar. The station is being set up for the first time in the co-operative sector at Banas Dairy Complex, which will be very useful in public education and animal husbandry.
E-opening of four Biogas plants
TPM Modi will also hold e-Dedication and e-Khatmuhurt of various projects that have been taken up by Banas Dairy. These projects include expansion of Banas Dairy Cheese and Whey Powder Plant in Palanpur, Banas Gobar Gas Plant and Bio CNG. Station Dama (Deesa) and E-Khatmuhurta include 4 new garbage gas plants – Khimana, Ratanpura (Bhildi), Radhanpur and Thawar (Dhanera).
