Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that through this cooperation between Ministry of AYUSH and WHO, India will be able to promote its Ayurvedic and traditional medicines through out the world. Incorporating innovation and technology will lead not just increase in quantity of products but also improve their quality, he said while addressing Ayush Investment Summit.
Talking about how during the Covid-19 period there was a sudden increase in the export turmeric, PM Modi said that there was a great demand for these natural medicines that were based on India’s traditional sciences through out the world. He said that with organized structure, India can grow this industry by leaps and bounds.
PM Modi further laid out specific plans to this industry, which focus on quality management, brand promotion and tourism.
The Ayush trade mark will be developed and only high-quality products that are made in India would be certified with this mark. This will increase confidence over the products and attract customers from all over the world.
India will develop and promote ‘Heal in India’ brand in order to invite people from all over the world to rejuvenate themselves through wellness centers focusing on traditional medicines. He said just like Kerala had surged its tourism by promoting Ayurvedic centers, other states will be able to do the same. Wellness centers based on Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and so on can be very popular, he said.
India will very soon introduce AYUSH Visa, which will allow foreigners to visit the country solely for the purpose of getting treatment at the wellness centers. This will facilitate people to travel to India for AYUSH therapy, he said.
