| Updated: December 21, 2024 15:40

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media on Saturday and invited people to the ongoing Rann Utsav in Kutch. The festival at Dhordo will go on till February 28, 2025.

In a post on “X” (formerly Twitter), Modi said, “Come, discover the pristine White Rann, the spectacular culture and warm hospitality of Kutch during the ongoing Rann Utsav. The Festival, which goes on till March 2025 promises to be an unforgettable experience for you and your family.”

The one-minute video posted along with the invitation has breathtaking images from the border district. It also shows Modi visiting Dhordo in the past.

Initiated during his tenure as the Gujarat Chief Minister in 2005, the Rann Utsav has gotten more popular over the years with visitors from India and the world visiting to witness the White Rann. The beauty of the White Rann on the full moon day is a sight to watch.

While the Tent City remains the star attraction, people also stay in the facilities that are set up in the Banni grassland region. The Tent City provides luxury accommodation and offers Gujarati cuisine to the tourists.

The Festival has given a boost to the economy of Kutch that was the epicentre of the earthquake in 2001 that claimed thousands of lives.
