Prime Minister Narendra Modi this morning is set to inaugurate the Ayush Investment Summit in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Event aims on increasing investments and highlighting innovations in the field of traditional medicine. Furthermore, the government has said that this meet is an unique attempt to promote long-lasting partnerships, grow exports and ‘nurture a sustainable ecosystem’. Along with Modi, World Health Organization’s Director-General Dr Tredos Ghebreyesus and Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth will also address the summit.
On Tuesday, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of first-of-its-kind WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine. The event was also attended by the World Health Organization’s Director-General Dr Tredos Ghebreyesus and Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth.
The centre will operate under the Ministry of AYUSH and will help India in raising the profile of traditional medicine across the world. It is worth noting that a Cabinet approval led to an agreement between the Government of India and the WHO, for establishment of this centre.
In tweet yesterday, PM Modi said that he was delighted to meet Dr. Ghebreyesus, who has always appreciated the influence of Indian teachers in his life.
