Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the women BJP workers for his party’s recent electoral victories in Uttar Pradesh and two other states.
Modi was speaking at the foundation day celebrations of the BJP on Wednesday. He said the States going to the polls in near future, especially the party’s prized state Gujarat, are learning from it.
Ahead of state elections in Gujarat, the Bharatiya Janata Party has put women at the center of the strategy. According to senior leaders, BJP’s triumph in Uttar Pradesh came because women appreciated improved law and order and free ration.
The BJP government in Gujarat will announce the ‘Superhit Mata Swasth Bal Yojana,’ aimed at ensuring healthcare for mothers and their infants. According to the state government’s estimates, nearly 17 lakh people will benefit from this policy.
The scheme focuses on the idea that the first 1,000 days of a person’s life, including the 270 days a foetus spends in the womb, are critical.
The policy’s goals are to provide 1,000 days of essential care and nourishment to mothers as well as children. It also aims to improve the nutritional health of pregnant women and mothers of children aged 0-24 months who have registered under the Gujarat National Food Security Act.
The BJP believes that the scheme targeted at promoting healthy mothers and children can be a gamechanger in the upcoming elections.
