Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday attended the ‘Shubh Aashirwad’ ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. Among the guests at the ceremony, which took place the day following the couple’s marriage, were politicians, businessmen, spiritual leaders, and global celebrities.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant touched the Prime Minister’s feet to seek his blessings. PM Modi later gave the newlyweds a gift.
The wedding reception, known as the “blessing ceremony” or “Shubh Aashirwad,” took place in Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre, which is owned by the Ambani family.
PM Modi received a warm reception from Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani, who also took him to the spot where hosts of celebrities, film stars, cricketers, businessmen, and politicians were present.
The Saturday reception guest list was the same as the wedding guest list from the previous day.
Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, and others, were there. Prominent cricketers Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and Sachin Tendulkar were also present at the grand occasion.
Top politicians such as RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and his wife Dimple, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, his deputies Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray also graced the event.
On Friday, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant tied the knot following several months of pre-wedding festivities, both in India and overseas.
Anant, 29, handles the renewable and green energy expansion for Reliance Industries Ltd., a major oil-to-telecom conglomerate.
On the other hand, Radhika is the marketing director of her father’s company, Encore Healthcare, and is the daughter of pharmaceutical tycoon Viren Merchant.
