Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese will be on a two-day visit to Gujarat from Wednesday, during which they will watch the first day of the Fourth Test match between the two countries at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on March 9, officials stated.
While PM Modi will arrive late evening Wednesday, Albanese, who lands earlier will head straight to Sabarmati Ashram to pay his tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. Later in the evening, the Australian PM is also scheduled to attend a cultural event at Raj Bhavan to celebrate Holi. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Governor Acharya Devvrat and other dignitaries are also expected to be present on the occasion.
Albanese is on a four-day visit to India from March 8 to March 11. This will be the first visit by an Australian PM to India since 2017. The March 9 match will be the fourth and final match in the Border–Gavaskar Trophy series. India is currently ahead in the series by one win.
