Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the United States later this year, as he has received an invitation from President Joe Biden. The official visit is expected to take place in either June or July, according to sources.
The trip will include a state banquet at the White House and a speech to the joint session of the US Congress. The visit holds great significance for the India-US partnership, which encompasses bilateral trade and strategic partnerships in the Indo-Pacific region, Quad, and other platforms.
PM Modi and President Biden are also expected to meet at the Quad Summit in Australia, the G20 Summit in New Delhi, and the G7 Summit in Japan.
Recently, the two countries established the India-US initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET), which has been dubbed the “Next Big Thing” in the bilateral relationship. The top US administrative official stated that the discussion is more substantial and bigger than just geopolitics.
The Union Ministry of External Affairs has stated that high-level visits are announced closer to the date and time.
