Surinder Chawla, the Managing Director and CEO of Paytm Payments Bank Limited (PPBL), has tendered his resignation. The announcement was made in a recent stock exchange filing by Paytm.
The company stated that it was informed by its associate entity, PPBL, about Chawla’s decision to step down. The resignation, effective from the close of business hours on June 26, 2024, was tendered on April 8, 2024, at 5:23 P.M.
Citing personal reasons and the desire to explore better career prospects, Chawla decided to part ways with the company. The statement from Paytm also mentioned that the date of relief could be altered by mutual consent.
This development marks a significant change in the leadership of PPBL and the impact of this change on the company’s future operations remains to be seen.
