Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, concluded a successful visit to Brazil last week. Rupala had been invited by Brazil’s Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supplies, Marcos Montes Cordeiro, with the aim of strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
Rupala, who was accompanied by a delegation of leaders, said that his visit to Brazil was a success as he had good discussions with Cordeiro. The two leaders have agreed to further strengthen mutually beneficial relations.
Furthermore, during his 5-day visit, Rupala met with the Presidents of the Brazilian Association of Zebu Breeders (ABCZ), the Mayor of Uberaba, the Brazilian Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA), and the Brazilian Cooperative Organization (OCB) to promote and discuss investment in Research and Development (R&D).
During his visit to Brazil, Rupala also attended a curtain-razor event to celebrate International Yoga Day 2022 and interacted with a large number of Brazilian yoga teachers. Talking about the India’s traditional medium of medicine, Ayurveda, the minister also promoted a book on Ayurveda, ‘Professor Ayushman’, that has been written and translated by the Indian Embassy in partnership with Dr. Jose Rugyu. He interacted with various high level dignitaries in the public and private sectors.
As part of the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, the Embassy is hosting a space show at the Brazilian Planetarium from May 21 to June 10, 2022 to showcase the progress made by the Indian Space Agency ISRO. Rupala also inaugurated the Space Exhibition on May 20.
Rupala interacted with the Indian Diaspora in Sao Paulo, Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro and laid wreaths at the statues and statues of Mahatma Gandhi in Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and Sao Paulo. He also visited the facilities of UPL Limited, an Indian multinational company which manufactures and markets agrochemicals and also offers crop protection solutions.
During the visit, Parshottam Rupala was accompanied by Dr. B. Arun Prasad, Director, Central Frozen Semen Production and Training Institute and Dr. Nilesh Nayi, Senior Manager, Animal Breeding was also a member of the delegation of National Dairy Development Board.
