The University of Oxford has appointed Indian origin renowned academic Soumitra Dutta as the Dean of Saïd Business School. He will take up the post from 1st June this year.
Soumitra Dutta was the founding dean of Cornell SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University, New York. He is currently a professor of management at the same institute.
On his appointment at a prestigious institute Soumitra Dutta said,”I’m delighted to be the next Dean of Oxford SBS. It’s a unique institution within one of the world’s greatest universities – University of Oxford. I’m excited to be able to move the school forward to higher levels of excellence & impact.”
Who is Soumitra Dutta?
Having done his B.Tech from Indian institute of technology, Delhi and M.S PhD from University of California, Soumitra Dutta has a rich three decade academic career which includes thirteen years in leadership roles at INSEAD in France. He currently chairs Global Business School Network. He has been an active advisor to governments on technology and innovation policies. He is the founder of many successful startups like Fisheye Analytics.
He is an editor of the World Economic Forum’s Global Information Technology Report. He has authored many books like Throwing Sheep in the Boardroom: How Online Social Networking Will Transform Your Life, Work and World, and Innovating at the Top: How Global CEOs Drive Innovation for Growth and Profit.
