A total of 25 people have reported mobile phone thefts during Punjabi rapper Honey Singh’s ‘Millionaire Tour’ concert at the Savanna Party Plot in Shela, Ahmedabad, on Saturday. Applications regarding the thefts were received by Sarkhej police.
A Sarkhej police officer stated that “this is the first instance of such a large number of phones being reported stolen from a concert in the city.”
The officer attributed the thefts to inadequate event management and security arrangements, stressing that stricter measures should have been implemented to prevent such incidents.
While initial reports indicated that high-end smartphones were the primary targets, the officer clarified that both premium and budget-range phones were stolen.
Authorities suspect the involvement of an organised gang that may have infiltrated the venue to execute the thefts. Investigations are ongoing, with police reviewing CCTV footage and coordinating with event organisers to identify and apprehend the culprits.
The concert marked Honey Singh’s return to Ahmedabad after a two-year hiatus and attracted a massive crowd, making it one of the city’s most highly attended music events.
