Over 100 packets of drugs have been discovered on the shores of Kutch and Devbhumi Dwarka districts in Gujarat over the past few days, authorities confirmed on Saturday.
The police reported that while some packets of charas were located in Devbhumi Dwarka on Saturday, others were found in Kutch in recent days.
Superintendent of Police Nitesh Pandey stated that packets containing charas were located near Gorinja village in Devbhumi Dwarka district on Saturday. “We have recovered over 50 such packets so far, and our efforts to comb the area will continue,” Pandey mentioned, noting that forensic examinations are underway on samples from the packets.
Additionally, P P Gohil, a special operations group (SOG) official of Kutch (West) police, revealed that 29 packets containing charas and methamphetamine were retrieved from the coast of Kutch in recent days. Gohil mentioned that among these packets, 20 contained charas while nine contained methamphetamine.
Authorities believe that smugglers disposed of these packets in the sea to evade detection, and favorable wind conditions led to their washing ashore.
Earlier in the week, 21 packets of charas were similarly discovered in Devbhumi Dwarka, with an additional 30 packets found in subsequent operations. The total number of packets seized has now surpassed 100 in the ongoing investigation.
