Filmmaker and gay rights activist Onir congratulated actor Rajkumar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar for their upcoming “Badhaai Do” which revolves around the theme of LGBTQ.
In the not so far past, director Onir’s script on homosexual preferences of soldiers was rejected by the defence ministry, which, by law must issue a NOC on any planned venture based on the forces.
After the trailer release of the Rajkumar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar starrer, Onir tweeted: “At least some in uniform can be shown as homosexual. Looking forward to what looks like fun.”
The film is set to release on February 11. It has been written by Suman Adhikary and Akshat Ghildial, who also wrote the Neena Gupta-starrer, Badhaai Ho.
