Salman Khan has a karmic connection with animals. While he had once been arrested in connection with the hunting of endangered animals, his love for animals, especially dogs, is well-documented. And now, a horse has occupied a special place in his heart.
According to reports, the actor has bought a celebrated horse from Gandhinagar. The equestrian fraternity is abuzz with talks of a deal facilitated by a close friend of the superstar. Named Dev, the horse will reside on Salman’s farm in Panvel near Mumbai.
Born to stallion Prabhat and mare Alamara, Salman bought the horse for an undisclosed eight-figure sum, apparently the highest in the state’s history.
Reports claim that Dev was the best-bred stallion at the 1st All India Animal and Agriculture Fair in Jaipur. He also won competitions at the Pushkar Horse Show in 2013, Jodhpur Horse Show 2015, Stud Glory Horse Show 2018, Sarangkheda Horse Show 2018, Pune Horse Show 2020 and Faridkot Horse Show 2021.
Anirudhsinh Vaghela, involved in the trading of horses, was quoted as saying, “Looking at the breed and its victories in the equestrian events, he is very valuable, and it is beyond commoners to buy this special horse.”
Salman’s fondness for horses needn’t be retold. Four years ago, he reportedly made a Rs 2 crore offer to buy a rare-breed horse, Saqab, from Olpad town near Surat, but the owner turned it down.
