Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi will be a prosecution witness for the Enforcement Directorate in the ongoing investigation and Rs. 200 crore extortion case against conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar.
Fatehi was allegedly gifted a luxury car, a Gucci bag and an iPhone as a “token of love” by Chandrasekhar.
Fatehi and Jacqueline Fernandez have in the spotlight in connection with the Rs 200 crore extortion case. The ED has summoned both the actors several times for questioning.
In her statement, Fatehi has maintained that she is a victim and has nothing to do with the money-laundering case. She also denied knowing or meeting Chandrasekhar before a December 2020 event in Chennai, where she was allegedly gifted a luxury BMW by the jailed conman. She also stated that she has never used the Signal application, in response to Chandrasekhar’s claims that he had called the actress on December 20, 22020 to inform her about the car he would be gifting her.
The Delhi Police has accused Chandrasekhar and 13 others of duping the wife of the former promoter of Ranbaxy to the tune of Rs 200 crore. Officials believe Chandrasekhar extorted Rs 200 crore from the
complainant by posing as several government officials and promising the jailed official interim bail.
