Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh has said that he will not perform in India until the country’s live show infrastructure is enhanced. He made the announcement during his performance in Chandigarh on December 14.
In one of the videos circulating online, Diljit expressed in Punjabi, “We do not have the proper infrastructure for live shows here. This is a significant source of revenue and many people rely on it for work. I will try next time to ensure the stage is in the centre so you can all gather around it. Until then, I won’t be doing shows in India, that’s certain.”
Diljit dedicated his Dil-Luminati performance to Gukesh Dommaraju, the recently crowned FIDE World Chess Champion from India, while performing in Chandigarh on Saturday. He praised Gukesh for his early dedication as well as determination in realising his goals.
Diljit was criticised for incorrectly spelling Punjab as “Panjab” in a tweet promoting his show in Chandigarh.
Diljit is reaching the conclusion of his Dil-Luminati India tour and on December 19, he will be performing in Mumbai. On December 29, the tour will come to an end with an amazing performance in Guwahati.
