As per official sources, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has deported from Egypt Subhash Shankar Parab, a close associate of fugitive jeweller Nirav Modi.
Parab, who fled to Cairo in 2018, arrived in Mumbai early this morning after being deported, according to officials, who added that he will appear in a CBI court at 12 p.m.
He is a key defendant in Modi’s Rs 7,000 crore bank fraud case.
Nirav Modi, his brother Nishal Modi, and Subhash Shankar Parab were also named in a chargesheet filed by the CBI in connection with the PNB scam in 2018. According to officials, Parab was the Deputy General Manager (Finance) at Firestar Diamond.
