A batch of 9 IAS officers from the Gujarat Administrative Service (GAS) cadre have been waiting for their posting orders for the last five-months.
According to sources, these officers are sitting at home, as their transfer orders are due to be released. They have not been paid for months and are avoiding all the key facilities enjoyed by their fellow officers.
It was reported that many times before the issuance of the transfer and promotion orders, a group of officers are being removed from their posts and have to wait for a longer period, until receiving any further instructions from the government.
Sometimes, they are kept home and are not posted for months even.
From the 1996 batch, IAS officers – S. D Dhanani, B. K Vasava, C. B Balaat, S. P Bhagora, R.M Damor, L. M Dindor, D.K Baria, B. D Ninama and P. B. Pandya have been waiting for their posting orders for the past five months.
As sources stated, Gujarat government has a total of 252 IAS officers deployed in various departments including 17 officers on deputation to Delhi government, one officer on deputation to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) headquartered in Washington DC, and another officer on deputation to Bihar cadre.
A batch of 9 IAS officers from the Gujarat cadre 2021 are undergoing training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie.
However, no initiatives have been taken by the state government to resolve this matter, considering the due date of the upcoming assembly elections to be held in December this year.
Speaking to Vibes of India, an officer stated, “We have been sitting at home for over 5 months now. As soon as we receive the orders from the government, we will get back to work at the specified positions.”
As stated, the officers will get their due salaries after getting reinstated to the said services.
