Indian Coast Guard launched an Auxiliary Barge ‘Urja Pravaha’ today, this launch was done by Smt Kavita Harbola, Regional President Tatrakshika (North West) at Shift Shipyard, Bharuch along with the presence of Inspector General Anil Kumar Harbola, TM, Commander, Coast Guard Region (North West) and Mr Sahay Raj, Managing Director, M/s Shoft Shipyard, who has happened to design and built this Barge.
Urja Pravaha is 36.96 meters long Aux Barge with a draft of 1.85 meters is designed to cargo ship fuel, aviation fuel and freshwater with a capacity of 60 ton, 10 ton and 40 tons respectively.
The newly launched Auxilary barge is aimed to enhance the Coast Guard operations by extending logistics support to Indian Coast Guard ships deployed in the sea at far-flung areas for various CG charters of duties.
