Overpassing the 18 lakh mark, NEET UG saw a total of 18,72,329 candidates registering for the exam. This is the highest number of applications filled since the last benchmark of 18 lakh. This year also saw a notable increase of 2.5 lakh from the previous year’s numbers.
95 percent attendance was recorded on 17th July. The examination was conducted by NTA, National Testing Agency. In the examination, more than 10.64 lakh of the students who appeared were female, and the rest, 8.07 lakh, were male.
The examination last year was held late compared to this time. It took place on September 12, with 95% of the registered candidates arriving to take the examination. More than 15.44 lakh candidates appeared for the examination. There were 3,858 centers working for the conduction of exams. Out of the 15.44 lakh students who gave the examination, at least 8.70 lakh had qualified.
Students had common feedback that the paper was lengthy and time-consuming, though some of them said that the paper was not difficult per say, just lengthy. While others were of the opinion that the paper was lengthy and tough, both.
