On Wednesday, Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik in money laundering case connected to the Mumbai underworld. It is said that Malik was summoned to ED office and was questioned for hours prior to the arrest.
Malik was at the ED office in south Mumbai’s Ballard Estate area today where the authorities recorded his statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. Malik was grilled with intense questions for hours before his arrest. In the arrest order, Malik has been named guilty of offense punishable under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (15 of 2003).
This news comes just days after ED raided Haseena Parker’s residence in Mumbai. The Directorate also carried out raids in many other locations connected to Parker.
After the arrest, the 62-year-old Maharashtra Minority Affairs Minister Malik was taken for medical check-up. Addressing the reporters, Malik asserted that he will not back down and continue to fight. “We will fight and win. We won’t bow down,” Malik said.
Nawab Malik’s office also tweeted this morning. The tweet said “Won’t be afraid, Won’t Bow Dow. Be Ready for 2024!”
