Amit Shah, the Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation declared on Friday that the Narendra Modi-led central government has succeeded in bringing Nagaland’s three “P’s” (peace, progress, and prosperity) to fruition.
Addressing a gathering on Friday at the virtual launch of five projects totalling Rs 50 crore in the state at the Niathu Resort, he claimed that Modi’s vision of mainstreaming the Northeast was now beginning to bear fruit. He listed several of his initiatives, including the requirement that every Union minister visit the area once every two weeks.
The projects included building Atal Tinkering Labs at a cost of Rs 1.80 crore in nine government higher secondary schools, building Virtual Reality (VR) laboratories in 42 government higher secondary schools, building a 12.5 megawatt (MV) sub-station at Chiephobozou at a cost of Rs 8 crore, trekking and base camps at Mount Saramati, Thanamir Village, and Kiphire, and building a two-lane bridge over the Doyang River at a cost of Rs 28 crore close to Governor’s Camp Liphayan.
In addition to making 51 trips to the North Eastern area in the past eight and a half years, according to Shah, Modi also made an effective effort to connect the region with the rest of India by allocating significant infrastructure projects to the Northeast. “Because of the enduring vision of Modi, not only Nagaland, but all eight North Eastern States were witnessing developments,” he asserted.
He continued by discussing the accomplishments of the BJP government and emphasised how it had been able to offer free Covid vaccination to people in every region of the nation, including Nagaland. As Nagaland has 12 different organic plant varieties, Shah said he was astounded by the wealth of the land and recognised that the state had great potential in horticulture.
He claimed that Nagaland was well-known throughout the world for its culture, ethnicity, and respect that Naga people showed for their female counterparts. He hoped that the five programmes will contribute to a radical transformation of the state’s electricity, tourism, and education industries.
