On November 2, the Delhi Commission for Women issued a notice to Delhi Police asking for a response
regarding the rape threats received by the nine-month old daughter of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma following the team’s loss to Pakistan in T20 World Cup.
A man identified as Ramnagesh Srinivas Akubathini, 23, from Hyderabad has been held by the Mumbai police’s Cyber Cell for giving online rape threats to the nine-month-old.

The accused is an IIT graduate and is presently unemployed. Screenshots were shared on social media platforms where BoomLive had reported that one such rape threat was made by a Twitter user by the name @ramanheist earlier which was later changed to @criccrazyygirl to pose as a Pakistani cricket fan.
In a notice addressed to the Deputy Commissioner of Police and Cyber Crime Branch of Delhi Police, Commission Chairperson Swati Maliwal said that he is being attacked also since he spoke against the incessant trolling of his teammate Mohammad Shami who was targeted for his religion by online trolls. She sought action from the police and asked for a copy of the FIR registered in his regard and details of the accused have been arrested.
