Mukesh Ambani, on Wednesday, said that while Asia will dominate global growth in the coming years, India also will play a major role, especially in technology as well as energy and life sciences. Talking at Asia Economic Dialogue 2022, the business tycoon stressed on the importance of transitioning from conventional sources energy to new, green and clean energy sources in order to protect planet Earth. He said that as the world moves towards green energies, India has the potential to become a superpower in the industry.
The chairman of Reliance Industries said that by 2030, the Asian region is likely to contribute roughly 60% of global growth. Furthermore, India will most probably overtake Japan as Asia’s second-largest economy, and the world’s third largest economy. He said, “I am very confident that the India Growth Story will be as exciting, if not more exciting, than China’s in the decades to come. It is India’s time!”
Ambani said that in the next 20 years, India will see a lot a a drastic change towards sustainable way of life and a major boom in the new, green and clean energy. He said by 2030 India will India’s technology and digital exports would exceed half a trillion dollars. Similarly, the country’s clean and green energy exports have the potential to reach half a trillion dollars of export in the next 20 years.
Talking about the need to move to new and clean energy sources, Ambani said that humanity has just one planet and that is planet Earth. He said, “There is no planet B. And planet Earth is facing an existential crisis because of climate change. Therefore, the transition from old energy to new, green and clean energy is not an
option; it is an urgent imperative”.
