Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani reaffirmed his bond with Gujarat and his company’s contribution to the state’s development at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024 on Wednesday. He also made five pledges for the future, including investing in green energy, 5G, retail, carbon fibre and sports infrastructure.
Ambani, who has attended every edition of the summit since its inception in 2003, said he was proud to be a Gujarati and recalled his father Dhirubhai Ambani’s advice to him: “Gujarat is your matrubhoomi, Gujarat should always remain your karmabhoomi.” He added: “Today, let me declare once again: Reliance was, is and will always remain a Gujarati company. Each of Reliance businesses is striving to fulfill the dreams of my fellow 7 crore Gujaratis.”
He announced that Reliance Industries will continue to make significant investments in Gujarat in the next 10 years and help the state achieve half of its green energy needs by 2030. He also said the construction of the Dhirubhai Ambani Giga Complex, which will house the world’s largest solar photovoltaic factory, is underway.
He also boasted that Reliance Jio had completed the fastest rollout of 5G infrastructure anywhere in the world and that Gujarat was fully 5G enabled. He said that 5G-enabled AI revolutions will make Gujarat’s economy more productive, more efficient and more globally competitive. It will also generate millions of employment opportunities and transform healthcare, education and agriculture with AI doctors, teachers and farmers.
He further promised that Reliance Retail will bring quality products to consumers and empower farmers in Gujarat. He said the conglomerate is setting up India’s first carbon fibre facility in Hazira for the circular economy in Gujarat.
He also welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement that India will bid for the 2036 Olympics and said that Reliance and Reliance Foundation will join forces with others to improve education, sports, and skills infrastructure that will nurture the sportspeople of tomorrow for various
