The first song, Besharam Rang, from one of the most anticipated films of 2023, Pathaan, dropped recently. While fans appreciated Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s boiling chemistry, it also landed the film in trouble with Madhya Pradesh minister Dr. Narottam Mishra. The minister fumed over the use of saffron costumes in the film. He also said that the film contains some objectionable scenes, and threatened to ban Pathaan in Madhya Pradesh if those shots are not replaced.
Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Wednesday warned that if visuals from a song in her upcoming movie Pathan were not deleted then the film might not be permitted release in the state. The movie also stars Shah Rukh Khan and is slated to release on January 25 next year.
Mishra said in reference to a newly released song from the film titled Besharam Rang that, “The outfits that have been worn in the song are objectionable. It is evident that polluted minds are behind filming this song. Anyway, Deepika Padukone has been a supporter of the tukde-tukde gang when she went to JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University) protests and that is why I would like to request that they should correct the visuals of the song, correct the costumes, or else the permission to release this film in MP should be given or not will be a thinkable question.
Moreover, The MP home minister objected to Padukone’s ‘saffron’ clothes in the ‘Besharam Rang’ song in the movie ‘Pathaan’. A Hindi-language action thriller, the movie is going to hit the screens on January 25, 2023.
