A female Cheetah Daksha, brought from South Africa, has died in Kuno National Park. The MP Chief Conservator of Forest JS Chauhan stated, “This is the third death so far.”
With the death of a six-year-old male feline that was translocated from South Africa in February, the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh lost its second cheetah. The reasons for its death are still unknown.
The cheetah, who was recently named Uday following a mass competition organised by the government platform mygov.in, had been faring well. According to officials of the Madhya Pradesh forest department, it became suddenly ill on Sunday.
Sasha, a cheetah from Namibia, had died in March from kidney complications.
