Seems the newly elected incumbent BJP government is in top gear to prove the mandate voted judiciously. This would perhaps explain the recent surprise visits by ministers of state in respective department offices.
After MoS (Health) Rishikesh Patel who swooped down on an unannounced inspection visit last week, it was MoS Raghavji Patel (Agriculture) who did the same at Krishi Bhawan, Thursday.
Officers found absent were notified while those not at their desk during office hours were reprimanded.
Interestingly, the minister Patel extended the scope of his visit to the allied offices of HoDs — agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, agricultural university council and livestock development board. According to insiders, details about absentee employees were asked. “Star performers were lauded while officers were asked about hurdles that impeded smooth functioning of their department,” added sources.
It is also gathered that Patel stressed on the need to report to work on time and document all work. “Excellent services are assured only on basis of dedication,” was his motivating sentence to the staff at Krishi Bhawan, shared the officials.
