Pramukh Swami Maharaj is a formidable name in the lineage of Gurus in the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha, established in 1907 by Guru Shastriji Maharaj to propagate the teachings of Sant Sahajanand Swami, considered an incarnation of God by his followers, who came to Gujarat from his native Chhapaiya in Uttar Pradesh in late eighteenth century. After being appointed as the head of this powerful sect of Swaminarayan Sampradaya since 1971, Pramukh Swami led an impressive and unblemished spiritual life till the end of his life.

In this context, it is not surprising that among the 109 youths who will take Diksha on 7th December, there are youths who have studied Engineer, B.Sc, B.Com, MBA, BBA. Out of 109 youths, seven are from Rajkot and three of them are only child of their parents.

2021 is also the birth centenary year of Pramukh Swami Maharaj. On the occasion of his birthdate, on 7th December, at the birthplace of Pramukh Swami, in Chansad village, initiation ceremony of 109 youths into Swaminarayan Sampraday will be held. Chansad village is located at 16 kilometers from Vadodara.

The BAPS organization of Swaminarayan Sampradaya is well known for its well-organized planning and systematic management skills. One of the reasons for this is that highly educated youth have been serving as volunteers in this organization which has spread all over the country and abroad since long . It is common to see bright young men dressed in saffron dhoti and angavastra working on the construction sites of temples with engineering and architectural instruments.
